How Does it Work?

The CATAN Championship Qualifier is a tournament played over two rounds: the preliminaries, and the finals. The first group in a Qualifier tournament is called the preliminaries. The preliminaries are a series of three separate games of base CATAN. The scores that all players earn from the preliminaries determine who will move to the finals.

After all games in the preliminaries have been completed, the top 4 players will move to the Finals. The Finalists play a single game of CATAN, and the winner of that final game wins a guaranteed seat at the next US National Championship in St. Paul, MN (date and exact location TBA).*

*The Champion will be responsible for their own transit, hotel, and badge (if necessary) to the National Championship.

NOTE: All participants must be residents of the United States and be 18+ years of age. You should be able to prove residency with an official ID card and/or a piece of mail (such as a utility bill) sent to a United States residential address. Winners of current season Qualifier Tournaments are not allowed to play in additional Qualifier events leading up to the next National Championship.
