It’s hard to know if a game is good before you play it, and even harder when it’s a gift for someone else! These titles have been playtested and approved by Mensa, are customer-favorites, and are highly recommended by our team at Diversions!
Anomia: Anomia plays off the fact that our minds are positively brimming with all sorts of random information; things to eat, pop songs, websites, etc… Sure, under normal circumstances, it’s easy enough to give an example of a frozen food, or a dog breed; but you will find that your brain works a little differently under pressure! For 3 to 6 players, ages 10 and up.
Azul: We can’t recommend this game enough. It’s on every “best” list, including Mensa Select and Game of the Year! Players are competing to decorate a palace wall by drafting tiles. The player who can maximize their score without wasting points will be the best artisan. For 2-4 players, ages 8 and up.
Imagine: Imagine a game that becomes the life of the party. Combine, overlap and even animate the special transparent cards in this fast guessing free-for-all. With 61 unique icons and more that’s a thousand prompts, it’s a game as big as your imagination. For 3 to 8 players, ages 12 and up.
Qwirkle: Players compete to outscore each other by placing tiles, grid-style, that are either all the same shape and different colors, or the same color but different shapes. It’s surprisingly challenging and great for the whole family. For 2 to 4 players, ages 6 and up.
Honorable Mentions: Additional titles worth checking out include Blokus, Clank!, Dragonwood, Forbidden Island, Hive, iota, Photosynthesis, Quiddler, and Set.
