Thanksgiving is next week! This is one of our favorite holidays for many reasons: cranberry sauce, relaxed family get-togethers, and board games! We’ve highlighted just a few of our most popular games at our tabletop game store for gatherings of all sizes:

Bananagrams (Ages 7+, 1-8 players, 30 minutes)

If you like word games, there are tons of options for you and Classic Bananagrams is one of our favorites! It’s easy to set up, quick to learn, and fast to play – at home or on the go. Use all of your letters to build a word grid in a fast-paced race. Great for keeping that post-turkey nap at bay!

Concept (Ages 10+, 3-12 players, 40 minutes)

Get your opponents to guess a word or phrase by giving them clues based on icons. The icons are sometimes literal and sometimes abstract, making it a challenging and interesting exercise in knowing your opponents! You can play by the rules and crown a final winner, or gather the whole family around and play a more light-hearted version. This flexibility makes it great for large gatherings!

TableTopics (No age, player, or time limitations!)

For a less competitive, getting-to-know-you affair, check out TableTopics. These conversation starters are a great icebreaker if needed, or for getting to know more about close family and friends. Different versions have themed questions – check out Family Gathering, Happiness, and Teens, or grab the holiday pack for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve questions.

Exploding Kittens (Ages 7+, 2-5 players, 15 minutes)

For a funny, light game – especially with children – Exploding Kittens is as kooky as it sounds! Draw cards from a deck and hope you don’t get an Exploding Kitten – that means you’re out of the game! But you can stop yourself from exploding with cards like a catnip sandwich or kitten yoga. Special action cards and cat powers add strategy to this hilarious game.
